Witches' Revel: An Extendable Card Game.

(Click fact sheet to expand.)

Witches’ Revel is an extendable card game of tiny witches and devastating spells.

2 players will choose a favorite witch and build a deck to play against each other, in fast-paced 1v1 duels.

They will flood the field of play with spells, and their witch will use her Power to build advantage — and reward specific play styles!

Spells aren’t static: they may waver, grow, dissipate, and even be blown out of the sky. In this game, tactics and sequencing are key.

This game has no life totals, doesn’t stall, and doesn’t snowball. Losing Stamina may mean the game ends, but not that that player loses: after a witch taps out, it’s only whoever has the best spells still standing who will be the winner!

Key Points:

Approachable And Interesting, Out Of Just One Box.

  • Witches’ Revel has careful design and language choices, to make sure it is accessible to newcomers while offering interesting depth for veterans.
  • The game has a 15-minute teach, with a game progression designed to support it.
  • Flexible, small-size deckbuilding helps guide a new player out of the preconstructed experience while keeping their choices focused — even with the card pool of a single box!

An Authorial Marathon.

  • Witches' Revel is mostly the work of one person (me, Aura) with game design, graphic design, art direction and marketing done in-house.
  • Beside me, a group of incredibly talented illustrators have brought a story of two loving, fire-and-ice girlfriend-nemeses to life. Check the media above for highlights!

Respecting Players’ Time And Money, No Matter What.

  • Highly diversified distribution brings the game to any player with Internet access or PDF printing — wherever they're at.
  • Digital free play and pay-what-you-want print & play files ensure anyone who wants to try the game can!
  • Two versions of the base box, Eternal Rhapsody, — one with accessories, one without — allow players to pick their price point for professional printing.
  • Collectors and players who want a premium experience are served by the collector's upgrade pack, Prismatic Reflection of Passion, — reversible foil game cards in a full-art treatment on the front and a game-text-free art card on the back.
  • Witches' Revel products are never randomized, and each comes with a 1-deck playset of the game card it contains. No card is 'official', and proxies are encouraged.

This Is A Love Letter To The Medium, To The People Who Love It, To Those Who May Find It For The First Time, And To The Memories I Carry With Me.

Hi! Aura here — the author of Witches’ Revel!

I wanted this game to be a love letter to the medium of extendable card games, its interaction with pop culture and its ability to tell stories — both as narrative beats, and as memorable experiences for their players.

My hope for Witches' Revel is for it to get the chance for players of all experience levels to find it enjoyable and interesting — a gift for my entrenched TCG/ECG peers, and also for newcomers whose curiosity for this medium can be piqued for the first time.

I do hope Witches’ Revel will find enough success to continue putting out box sets for everyone. Not only this would let me tell more tales of the two little dorks that are the protagonists in this set, but also introduce a kaleidoscope of wonderful little weirdos — and of mechanical exploration to go with it.

However it goes, though, its first outing is here — and if makes even one person see this little slice of gaming for the first time, or in a new light, I will count it as a success in my heart.

Thank you for reading! — A.
